How To Get Recruiters To Take Notice Of Your LinkedIn Profile

How To Get Recruiters To Take Notice Of Your LinkedIn Profile LinkedIn is a key tool for a lot of recruiters â€" with loads of candidates available to them at a click of a button, it’s pretty ideal. All they’ve got to do then is decide which candidates would be most relevant, get in touch, and, after a bit of interaction, decide who to put forward for the. It sounds pretty easy right? It can be… but when there are millions of other candidates with similar skills it can be difficult to distinguish who’s got it and who’s not.   This is why it’s really important for you to make sure your profile is a recruiter’s dream â€" otherwise you’ll just get put to the bottom of the pile… or you might not even make it into the pile at all! We’ve come up with five ways to make sure a recruiter notices you on LinkedIn â€" hopefully this will help you bag your dream job sooner than you think. Use Keywords When you’re having a look for your dream job you’ll probably find that there are keywords in it â€" for example if you were looking for a Digital Marketing role you’ll probably find words like ‘SEO’, ‘social media’ and ‘CMS’. You then need to note down those keywords and try and include them in your summary and experiences. This will mean two things â€" you’ll pop up when recruiters are searching for you and your recruiter will be able to put you forward because you’ve ticked all the boxes. However, do be careful with the keywords that you use â€" you obviously need to have knowledge/experience of these things before you write them down â€" and you also don’t want your profile to look really spammy. Don’t risk lying on your LinkedIn account because you’ll just get found out later on down the line! Create A Snappy Headline Once the recruiter has searched a specific skill/job title a list of names will come up â€" they can then filter the search so there are less people in the list. This said, there’ll still be quite a few to choose from â€" so you need to stand out from the crowd. Make sure your headline is short and snappy so the recruiter can get key information without clicking onto your profile. If you can get a keyword in there that would be even better â€" this way your recruiter is more likely to click again. Engage With Recruiters If the recruiters aren’t coming to you, then you need to go to them! You can do this Create An Amazing Summary If you’ve managed to get your recruiter’s attention then they may click on your profile and the first thing they’ll see is the summary. They’ll see so many different summaries each day so you’ve really got to get your point across quickly. Make sure it’s snappy and is split up into sub headings â€" your summary can include; results, career highlights and your contact details. It should also include your current position â€" and your aims for your career. This way your recruiter is given a brief introduction and will probably read on if you’re right for the job. Don’t forget the all-important keywords â€" the more keywords you use the more likely you’re going to pop up in the recruiter’s search. Get Your Results On Your Profile It’s really useful to the recruiter if they can see the outcomes of your work â€" and a great way to do this is to put numbers in. There’s no point in saying “I saved the company a significant amount of money” you need to get some numbers in there. Your recruiter can then report these impressive stats to their client. Say you organised an event, state how many people attended and how you marketed it to your audience. Your recruiter has then got something to use when reporting back â€" they’re not going to want to go back to the client and say “they arranged an event but I’m not sure how it actually went”. So make sure you’re specific â€" remember the recruiter doesn’t know your full story so you need to make sure you back up what you say. So there we go â€" some ways to get yourself noticed
